Maybe it's more, maybe it's less, but you probably don't have the spare resources to grid search the whole map. See, each biome has an area that can have resource nodes that is very roughly the reach of a radar tower+it's scanners. Only keep that light tower running if there's something like a deep node you critically need as well, or if you're trying to ground-expand to a VERY nearby biome like kelp forest otherwise, use scouting missions, outposts, and docks to expand into new biomes to repeat the process. (or leave it powered down to be wrecked by cthulu as a reminder youv'e cleared that area, but this is a bit more resource costly). Op, the main idea you'll need to grok is that a lot of your resource harvesting expansions need to be very, VERY temporary: basically, you thorougly radar scan around your base, you carefully place a light tower and the power line out to it, place the resource bouys to cover all the resources in that direction.Īnd then you destroy that light tower and never expand in that direction again. Are you sure? Extraction nodes are infinite. I am on my 300+ days base and running out of the entire’s map resources, so that’s a bummer as well. Eventually you will run into a resource node in new places. From there use your said best friend sonar to detect any nearby minerals, and mine these. Sometimes they even spot a node on their way to/from destination. Build exploration subs to get flares into new biomes and build and outpost there.

Setting up more lights around main base did not help me personally, as nearly all resources are limited to what the sonar projects. Coal and Oil are only nodes to be mined permanently. Originally posted by zircon:There are currently no infinite nods for resources, so expansion is limited.
